Upstream’s volunteer team, the “Updreamers”, participated in the 16th Race for the Cure, an event organized by the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer, Alma Zois. The team sent a powerful message of hope and strength in the fight against breast cancer. More than 55 Updreamers gathered in the heart of Athens on Sunday, September 29, taking part in the 5km and 2km races of the event.
Founded in 1988 by breast cancer survivors, Alma Zois aims to provide emotional support to newly diagnosed women, helping them navigate their illness and improve their quality of life. The association’s Board of Directors consists entirely of breast cancer survivors, each of whom has personally faced the disease.
Alma Zois is dedicated to ensuring that every woman in Greece has access to vital information on breast cancer prevention and early detection. The organization also offers psychosocial support to those battling the disease and provides guidance on labor rights and social benefits.
The Updreamers were proud to support and honor the efforts of all survivors, spreading the empowering message that breast cancer can be defeated.
