Athens, 20 May 2013 – Upstream, the leader in mobile marketing technology, continues their long history of supporting charity initiatives. A dedicated team of employees participated in the first Athens Corporate Relay Run. The Athens Corporate Relay Run took place on Sunday, 19th of May, 2013, at the Water Park in Faliro Olympic Complex, in Paleo Faliro. The main aim for this event was to raise funds to support the union of 10 charitable associations “Mazi gia to Paidi” that helps 10,000 children!
Upstream was there to show its active support by sending 6 teams of 4 individuals. This hard working group of Upstreamers trained for weeks to participate in the big race and give joy to the children in need. The relay race involves a 12km relay race in which each individual member had to tackle 3 km. Despite the soaring temperatures, we achieved amazing results ranking 32nd in Men’s and 12th in the Mixed Category. Marco Veremis, Upstream CEO, who also participated and ran in the race, said “Big corporations have to be active in their local communities and support the people in need. Athens Corporate Relay Run was an amazing event and a great chance for everyone to have fun whilst giving back to the community by raising money and awareness.”
